Pinball doesn't show up in the retro homebrew news all that often. So when a classic table suddenly appears on a machine it never visited before, it deserves a closer look. Rollerball CPC was released today, and it brings HAL Laboratory's 1984 MSX pinball game to the Amstrad CPC for the very first time.

For readers who didn't grow up with these machines: the MSX was a standardised home computer format popular in Japan and parts of Europe, while the Amstrad CPC was a British home computer range that did especially well in the UK, France and Spain. Two different worlds, and now one pinball table sits between them.

Some arcade games never really go away. They just keep getting new coats of paint. Frogger Junior is the latest example, and it lands on two machines you don't see on many release lists these days: the Amstrad GX4000 and the ZX Spectrum Next.

The game comes from a development trio made up of RedBug, Pulsophonic and TITAN. It's a modern reimagining of Konami's 1981 arcade classic, and it's out now.
